Bitter Spider. DIY craft

In this video, I show how to make a simple mechanical spider out of cardboard, which creates the effect of “biting” and “swallowing” objects. This craft uses the principle of levers and mechanical motion transmission, making it an excellent example for teaching children the basics of mechanics.

Technical details of the craft:
Body: A rectangular structure made of thin cardboard, serving as the base of the construction.
Jaw strips: Two cardboard strips, glued at one end to the side walls of the body. The other ends extend downward, forming a lever mechanism.
How it works: When the lower ends of the strips are moved, the front ends open and close, mimicking the motion of the spider’s jaws. An object placed in front of the spider appears to be “swallowed.”
